Saturday, Beck's Robotics Teams competed, at Rosa, in their first VEX IQ State competition along with 22 other teams from all over New Jersey! They were able to qualify 4 incredible, competitive robots and they went on to compete in multiple skills challenges, team judge interviews and 60 duel-competitive rounds! They proudly brought home to Beck the VEX IQ Challenge Judge's Award for their understanding of their design process, being able to explain to the judges how they constructed their design to solve the challenges, their perseverance in building/programming and controlling their robot and overall teamwork!

Dr. Meloche has issued an important letter regarding the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment for Science (NJSLA-S) field test, to be administered to 5th, 8th and 11th grade students in May. The Cherry Hill Fire Department has been a partner with the Cherry Hill School District providing fire safety education for many years. In 2014 we presented a new program entitled "Safety Smart". Safety Smart is a school-based curriculum that links teachers with community safety experts and parents. Safety Smart is being taught in grades 1, 3, 5 and 6 as part of the Physical/Health Education Program.
The goal of the Safety Smart Program is not only to teach students valuable safety skills, but also to have the students put these skills to use outside of the school environment. A valuable tool to help us evaluate the effectiveness of the program is the parent survey. We ask parents/guardians to please take a few minutes to complete an online Parent Survey so we can determine how, if at all, the instruction is being put to use.
Select summer enrichment classes are still open at Cherry Hill High School East in drama, art, photography, graphic design, model rockets, knitting, chess and more for Cherry Hill residents entering grades 5-11. Course descriptions and registration form are available online. Please submit registration form and payment ASAP.
